What Are WhatsApp Template Folders?
WhatsApp Template Folders let you create custom folders and subfolders for organizing WhatsApp message templates in your Sub-Account. You can group templates by use case, campaign, department, or another structure that fits your workflow.
The updated Highrise (Design System V2) interface improves the Templates and Folders screens. You can open folders directly, view their templates or subfolders, filter and sort template lists, and see where templates are stored. Templates and folders can also be moved between different directory levels.

Prerequisites and Limitations
Access WhatsApp template management from the Sub-Account containing your WhatsApp templates. Your available actions depend on the WhatsApp features and permissions assigned to your user.
- The Sub-Account must have access to its WhatsApp Templates area.
- Your user must have the applicable WhatsApp management permissions.
- Folder organization does not change a template's message content or Meta approval status.
- Filters and sorting change how templates are displayed, not their content or status.
- Inside a selected folder, the Templates and Folders tabs show items belonging to that directory.
How to Organize WhatsApp Templates Using Folders
Start from the WhatsApp Templates area in your Chat To Clients CRM Sub-Account. You can create folders, navigate directory levels, filter or sort templates, and move items as your template library grows.
1. Navigate to WhatsApp Template Settings
Open the applicable Chat To Clients CRM Sub-Account and go to Settings.
Click WhatsApp, then open the top-level Templates tab.

Use the inner Templates and Folders tabs to switch between the template list and folder directory.

2. Create a New Folder
From Settings → WhatsApp → Templates, select the inner Folders tab. Click Create folder, enter a folder name, and click Create to save.

3. Create Subfolders
Go to Settings → WhatsApp → Templates → Folders. Click the name of an existing folder to open it. Click Create folder, enter a subfolder name, and select Create.

Note: You can create multiple levels of folders and subfolders to organize your templates.
4. Use Breadcrumb Navigation
From Settings → WhatsApp → Templates → Folders, open the folder you want to browse. Use the breadcrumb trail above the folder contents to return to a parent directory or the home level.

Navigate Templates and Folders Within a Directory
The Highrise update introduces folder-scoped navigation. When you open a directory, the Templates and Folders tabs display the content belonging to that selected folder.
- From the Sub-Account, go to Settings → WhatsApp → Templates.
- Select the inner Folders tab.
- Click the folder name to enter that directory.
- Choose Folders to view the subfolders inside it.
- Choose Templates to view templates inside the selected folder.
- Use the breadcrumbs to return to a parent folder or the home directory.
Folders tab: Shows the subfolders belonging to the selected directory.
Tip: If the selected folder has no templates or subfolders, the corresponding tab displays an empty state. Return to a parent folder to continue browsing.
Filter WhatsApp Templates
Filtering helps you narrow the template list using selected attributes. This is useful when managing templates in different languages, categories, or approval states.
- Open the relevant Chat To Clients CRM Sub-Account.
- Go to Settings → WhatsApp → Templates.
- Select the inner Templates tab.
- Click + Add filter.
- Select the filter field you want to use.
- Choose the available criteria for that field to narrow the displayed list.
The filter menu contains:
- Category: Find templates by message category.
- Language: Find templates using a selected language.
- Status: Narrow the list by template status.
- Date: Access date-based filtering options.

Note: The current menu labels its date filter Date. The template table also provides a separate Last edited column.
Sort WhatsApp Templates
Sorting changes the order in which templates appear in the list. You can organize the view by template name, language, category, status, or last edited date.
- Open the relevant Chat To Clients CRM Sub-Account.
- Go to Settings → WhatsApp → Templates.

- Click Sort above the template list.
- Select the field you want to sort by.

- Go to Settings → WhatsApp → Templates.
- Open the inner Templates tab at the main level.

7. View Template Performance Metrics
From the Sub-Account, go to Settings → WhatsApp → Templates. Locate the template you want to review, then click View reports under Actions.
The redesigned Templates table provides direct access to reports. The earlier table layout shown in the existing reporting image may look different from the current Highrise interface.

The available template reports can include:
- Messages Sent
- Messages Delivered
- Messages Read
- Button Clicks
Use the available report date controls to review activity over a selected period.

Note: Template analytics have availability and regional limitations. Review the dedicated WhatsApp Template-Level Analytics guide for current reporting requirements.
Delivered Message Count
Delivered-message information helps you understand how frequently an individual WhatsApp template reaches its recipients. In the redesigned management interface, open the template's report using View reports.
- Review the number of messages delivered for a selected template.
- Compare delivery information with sent and read counts where available.
- Use supported reporting date controls to review a specific period.

- Use available information to assess template performance.

Reporting layouts may differ from the earlier template-table example. Use View reports in the current Templates screen to access the applicable metrics.
